YOGA

Restorative yoga

Restorative yoga is a passive, meditative form of yoga that allows you to focus on your breath while releasing tension in your body. It focusses on recovery.

It is a soothing yoga for chronic conditions & pain complaints. In addition, extremely suitable for long-term stress-related symptoms. In a lying or sitting pose, you are supported by pillows and blankets. Your body is thus invited to be in a comfortable position that releases muscle tension. Your breathing and digestion slow down, your nervous system calms down and your blood pressure drops.

Chi yoga

A calm flow yoga with a flowing character for more energy and awareness. (Tai) Chi Yoga is a healing and meditative art form. It is about experiencing and doing, being in the present moment.

The Chi Yoga class follows a certain structure:

(1) a seated breathing exercise;

(2) standing yoga moves;

(3) (tai) chi movements;

(4) supine relaxation;

(5) sitting and lying yoga movements;

(6) reclining relaxation and/or kneeling meditation.

Within movement therapy, the connection and integration between mind and body is central. The focus is on what we experience in our thoughts and feelings to be perceived in our body as well. With movement these sensations can be explored and made visible. The research and reflection process is just one of the possibilities within this form of therapy.

MOVEMENT THERAPY

Movement is expressive, and your process becomes visible to the other, so that there are opportunities to investigate and change interaction patterns in relation to the other. Therefore, there is opportunity to recognize and exploring your own physical and mental possibilities. Movement-oriented and body-oriented activities can be used to reduce fear of movement, improve energy distribution, to listen better to body signals and connect to yourself.

- Experiencing and feeling body signals from one's own body and acting accordingly

- Recognizing and acknowledging body signals and possible actions

- Learning and recognizing boundaries in yourself and towards others

- Learning how to build up and dose physical activity when there are limitations in the body and mind (rehabilitation)

- Learning to cope better with stress responses

- learning to deal with physical limitations and practicing new behaviour
