"The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek"

Giving back to people and the community by moving minds and bodies.

A short story below of why I do, what I do in life, and in MoviSens.

I have always been highly interested in us as human beings our behavior, our minds and the connection with our bodies. However, it wasn't until the year 2015 that I truly experienced the depth of my own existence, and my (dis)connection to body and mind; and with that beautiful gift of hindsight,  I can say that since this unfortunate event, my life was changed forever -  It turned out to be incredibly fortunate and has brought me closer to my purpose in life; guiding and supporting people.

In that particular year I survived a life threatening double pneumonia with poor treatment in Asia and a car accident not long after. My whole system collapsed - difficulty breathing, walking, speaking, tremors, insomnia, nausea, numerous infections and amnesia. An intense 2 years of rehabilitation followed after. In those years I have had hundreds of visits to the hospital, physiotherapist, chiropractor and manual therapist. Who were all amazing in supporting me. I was fully dedicated to heal and recover and was looking for many ways to do so. Yet, healing is not a linear path, and discovering this fact in the many ups and downs of recovery was an absolute challenge.

I discovered through my own experience that the body, mind and soul are one. Having only a one sided bodily approach to healing was not the answer, I needed a holistic approach. In that same time I discovered yoga, movement, breathwork therapy and haptonomy. Through connecting again with my own body and mind I can truly say it gave me my full quality of life back.

Not long after my successful rehabilitation, I was awarded a scholarship to become a yoga teacher; to learn, share and eventually teach my experiences to strengthen others in life.  After this transformational experience, I studied haptonomy and massage therapy and opened MoviSens in 2019 - Supporting people with PTSD, depression, psychosomatic complaints and burn-out in their healing and rehabilition journey.

Captured by the practise of psychology, movement and dance, I am motivated in the near future to study a Master of Dance and Movement Therapy; in order to keep growing and learning how I can better support people on their healing journeys.

Love,

Gitta
